[ENG] Okay, let's start this review by saying that I had my reservations from almost the first moment and encounter of these two because I had a wrong idea of what this "brother in law" was going to be like and well, let's say I was surprised that for all the drama this book had, I liked it as much as I did.
From the previous books, I wanted to know Boone's story, to see that he was married and with a beautiful girl, I wanted to see how the author played with his story and did him justice, Boone is super focused on his career and his daughter, not so much on his marriage because they are already distant from each other, they no longer feel that love they felt at the beginning and decide to divorce and remain on good terms, a very mature thing to do and I liked that the author portrayed it that way. When Grady enters the scene they were still married, and being her younger brother everything was forbidden and it never crossed their minds that they could have a future together, but let's say that the sparks between them jumped off the pages, and in the end they succumb to their desires.
Something worth highlighting is that they were very aware of Jade's (ex) feelings, they knew it was wrong and even though they were still together, they knew it and knew they could cause some pain and when Jade finally finds out I liked that the author gave voice to her feelings, that Grady validated a lot and respected how his sister felt, I love when an author does not make an ex an enemy because you see the attitude of the protagonists and here it was although painful very mature to face.
These two together were made for each other, the way Boone accepted his sexuality and the other guys supported him (well, Shooter being Shooter) everything flowed in such a way that when there were no obstacles between them everything became easy.
Without a doubt Ashley does it again and leaves me surprised how she deals with various topics, I can't wait to return to Copper Lake.
📌 I received an e-arc, and this is my honest opinion/review of it.
