[ENG] I want to start by saying that I didn't think I would like this book much more than the first one, but it's always a pleasure to be wrong!!!

From the final chapters of the first book (Dust Storm), we already knew what happened to Ray (his accident) and that's what leads to this story, his entire journey to cope with everything that happened to him, both physically and mentally is something I was already expecting to read but that is the key word "expect" because it was a journey that completely destroyed me (in the best way), if there's something I learned from the previous book is that the author likes to play a little with my emotions, not so dramatic but at the same time enough to have me reading and staring at the wall because of how deep her characters are.

The story caught me from the beginning, every scene, every interaction not only between the protagonists but with the whole family, Ray and Brooke were made for each other, so different but at the same time so similar.

Ray, is our (ex) bull rider who due to an accident ended up in a wheelchair and with little mobility, the first chapters deal with his timeline and his healing process, and here it is worth highlighting everything the author did because you feel every emotion of Ray, you feel every pain and that for me was good to read. His grumpy personality he adopted after the accident (no less) but I liked that his family did not leave him alone, that even though he did not want to be helped they were there for him. Now, when he finally meets Brooke let's say his life took another 360 change but for the better.

Brooke, our ray of sunshine (literally) is a bit clumsy but with a good heart, at first I have to confess that I found her character a bit exaggerated but everything fell into place when she started working for Ray, it was what he needed and what she needed, her evolution as a character left me surprised in the best way and I will only say that I loved her so much and I want to be her friend.

The relationship between the two was slow but good, how they got along at the beginning led to them spending more time together, that he realized that she was for him, that she didn't care about his disability, the small moments between these two left me sighing all the time, even when days have passed since I read their story, I think about them every moment.

There is nothing wrong with this book, without a doubt the author put a lot of care into it and it shows, every character is so well taken care of that I just want to read this book again like the first time to feel all the beautiful things it made me feel reading Ray and Brooke being together.



[ESP] Quiero empezar diciendo que no pensé que este libro me gustaría mucho más que el primero, pero siempre es un placer equivocarme!!!

Desde los capítulos finales del primer libro (Dust Storm) ya sabíamos que le pasa a Ray (su accidente) y eso es lo que da paso a esta historia, todo el camino de el para sobrellevar todo lo que le paso, tanto física y mentalmente es algo de lo que ya me esperaba leer pero allí está la palabra clave “esperar” porque fue un viaje completamente que me destruyo (de la mejor manera), si hay algo de lo que aprendí con el libro anterior es que la autora le gusta jugar un poco con mis emociones, no tan dramático pero a la vez lo suficiente como para tenerme leyendo y viendo a la pared por lo profundo que son sus personajes.

La historia me atrapo desde el principio, cada escena, cada interacción no solo entre los protagonistas si no con toda la familia, Ray y Brooke fueron hechos el uno para el otro, tan diferentes pero a la vez tan similares.

Ray, es nuestro (ex) bull rider que por un accidente quedó en silla de ruedas y con poca movilidad, los primeros capítulos trata de la línea de tiempo de él y su proceso de curación, y aquí cabe destacar todo lo que la autora hizo porque sientes cada emoción de Ray, sientes cada dolor y eso para mi fue bueno de leer. Su personalidad de gruñón la adoptó luego del accidente (no es para menos) pero me gusto que su familia no lo dejara solo, que aunque él no quería que lo ayudaran estaban allí para él. Ahora bien, cuando por fin conoce a Brooke digamos que su vida dio otro cambio de 360 pero para bien.

Brooke, nuestro rayo de sol (literal) es un poco torpe pero con buen corazón, al principio tengo que confesar que me pareció un poco exagerado su carácter pero todo cayó como anillo al dedo cuando entra a trabajar para Ray, era lo que él necesitaba y lo que ella necesitaba, su evolución como personaje me dejó sorprendida de la mejor manera y solo diré que la ame mucho y quiero ser su amiga.

La relación de los dos fue lenta pero buena, como los dos se llevaban al principio dio paso a que estuvieran más tiempo juntos, que él se diera cuenta de que ella era para él, de que a ella no le importaba su discapacidad, los pequeños momentos entre estos dos me dejaron lanzando suspiros a todo momento, aun cuando han pasado días desde que leí su historia, pienso en ellos a cada momento.

No hay nada malo con este libro, sin duda la autora puso mucho cuidado en él y se nota, cada personaje está tan bien cuidado que solo quiero volver a leer este libro como la primera vez para volver a sentir todo lo bonito que me hizo sentir leyendo a Ray y Brooke estando juntos.

Not So Truly Yours by Julia Wolf (The Harder They Fall #4)

[ENG] Miles, the man that you are, my God!!! I want one for myself, please and thank you.

Miles and Daisy are a powerful couple, a boy with golden retriever vibes and a girl with black cat vibes, they couldn’t be more different but at the same time so similar, I loved every scene, every approach of them, their development as characters was one of the most beautiful to read, as I was reading I just had a smile stuck on my face because of how fun they were but at the same time very focused.

Daisy is our girl, she makes cupcakes and charcuterie tables and wants to start a business but doesn’t know how and this is where Miles comes in. I loved her personality, that she didn’t care about almost anything else but that her family was treated well which I'm with her because they are some of the best I have read, they have suffered a lot but maintain such a beautiful joy, Daisy as a character becomes one of my favorites, not only for how she is but for how the author portrayed her, her weaknesses and strengths are something to learn from.

Miles, oh Miles, my boy, you don’t know how happy I'm that his book is already here, the author said that thanks to everyone wanting a book from him she did it and let me tell you that here the saying “the best for last” becomes a reality because my God, this book did justice to his whole character, we found out what he was like as a teenager (for real) since we more or less knew what he was like from book one, and let’s say that the background was wow, I’m not a fan of a redemption arc (which we saw in book one Dear Grumpy Boss) but the author wrote it so well that wow, I loved his personality, his charm, everything about him I loved and how was he with Daisy’s family? it was what he needed to be complete.

Now, the story reads itself because of how easy and entertaining it is but at the same time it deals with topics that the author covers in her content warning list and in those parts I will say that I simply cried and cried because I myself have had those feelings and it made me think a lot, without a doubt the author knew how to write these topics and I felt seen.

A story that will stay with me forever, I didn’t want it to end because I didn’t want to say goodbye to all these boys but that ending was undoubtedly the perfect one for everyone.

[ESP] Miles el hombre que eres dios mío!!!! Quiero uno para mi por favor y gracias.

Miles y Daisy son una pareja poderosa, un chico con vibras de golden retriever y una chica con vibras de gato negro LITERAL, no podían ser mas diferentes pero a la misma vez tan parecidos, ame cada escena, cada acercamiento de ellos, su desarrollo como personajes fue uno de los mas bonitos de leer, es que mientras leía solo tenia una sonrisa pegada en la cara por lo divertidos que eran pero al mismo tiempo muy centrados.

Daisy es nuestra chica, ella hace bocadillos de charcutería y dulces y quiere empezar un negocio pero no sabe como y aquí es donde entra Miles, me encanto su personalidad, que no le importaba casi nada más que solo trataran bien a su familia la cual estoy con ella porque son de los mejores que he leído, han sufrido mucho pero mantienen una alegría tan hermosa, Daisy como personaje pasa a ser una de mis favoritas, no solo por como es sino por cómo la autora la retrató, sus debilidades y fortalezas son algo de lo que aprender.

Miles, oh Miles, mi chico, no saben como me alegro de que su libro ya está aquí, la autora dijo que gracias a que todos querían un libro de el lo hizo y déjenme decirles que aquí se hace realidad el dicho de “lo mejor para el final” porque Dios mío, este libro le hizo justicia a todo su personaje, nos enteramos de como era cuando adolescente (de verdad) ya que más o menos sabíamos como era desde el libro uno, y digamos que el trasfondo fue wow, no soy partidaria de un arco de redención (el cual vimos en el libro uno Dear Grumpy Boss) pero la autora lo escribo tan bien que wow, su personalidad me encanto, su encanto, todo de el me encanto y ¿Cómo fue con la familia de Daisy? era lo que él necesitaba para estar completo.

Ahora, la historia en sí se lee sola de lo fácil y entretenida pero a la vez trata temas que la autora abarca en su lista de advertencias de contenido y en esas parte diré que simplemente llore y llore porque yo misma he tenido esos sentimientos y me hizo pensar mucho, sin duda la autora supo como escribir estos temas y me sentí vista.

Una historia que se quedará conmigo para siempre, no quería que se acabara porque no quería decirles adiós a todos estos chicos pero ese final sin duda fue el perfecto para todos.

Breakaway by Anastasija White (Sinners on the Ice #3)

[ENG] When Ana said that this book was difficult to write, that we would love Roman but also cry for him, I didn’t believe the magnitude of that, this book exceeded my expectations.

The story of Nevaeh and Roman is one of those that keep you reading late into the night but also one of those that when you finish it you just want to keep reading about this couple. We already knew how they met from the previous book, but here things take a turn when Nevaeh breaks up with her boyfriend and gets involved in certain things and Roman ends up saving her and not only that, the very premise of the book tells you… “an accidental wedding in Las Vegas” and believe me when I tell you that this is just the tip of the iceberg for the relationship of these two.

From Roman being a somewhat complicated character with a sad past who thinks he doesn't deserve to be happy and Neva being a girl who thinks the same but for different reasons, these two were perfect for each other, they understood each other, they became friends and yes, they continued married for a somewhat superficial reason but I feel it was what they needed, the way they got to know each other and themselves together was the best part of the whole book.

The relationship between Neva and Angie is one of those friendships you want to have, it's one of those friendships that makes you sigh at how good they are, and here, although you wouldn't believe it, Colton surprised me at how good a friend he was to Roman.

This book undoubtedly highlights a lot of self-love after a loss, how we feel guilty for continuing to live when the other person does not, Roman's path was difficult but with Neva he felt he could live without guilt; how being surrounded by friends (good friends) helps to cope with the hardships of life. This book definitely left me with an emotional void, but in a good way, and with that I thank the author so much for creating these wonderful characters and letting us be a part of their journey.

It contains somewhat strong (non-graphic) themes that can be a trigger for some people, so read the content warnings before reading.

[ESP] Cuando Ana dijo que este libro fue difícil de escribir, que amaríamos a Roman pero también lloraríamos por él no creía la magnitud de eso, este libro superó mis expectativas.

La historia de Nevaeh y Roman es de esas que te mantienen leyendo hasta tarde pero también es de esas que cuando lo terminas solo quieres seguir leyendo sobre esta pareja. Ya sabíamos cómo se conocieron desde el libro anterior, pero aquí las cosas toman un giro cuando Nevaeh termina con su novio y se ve involucrada en ciertas cosas y Roman termina salvándola y no solo eso, la misma premisa del libro te lo dice… “una boda accidental en las vegas” y créanme cuando les digo que eso es solo la punta del iceberg para la relación de estos dos.

Desde Roman siendo un personaje un tanto complicado con un pasado triste, que piensa que no merece ser feliz y Neva siendo una chica que piensa lo mismo solo que con diferentes motivos, estos dos fueron perfectos el uno para el otro, se entendieron, se hicieron amigos y si, continuaron casados por una razón un tanto superficial pero siento que era lo que necesitaban, la manera en que juntos llegaron a conocerse entre ellos y a ellos mismo fue lo mejor de todo el libro.

La relación de Neva y Angie es de esas amistades que uno quiere tener, es de esas amistades que te hacen suspirar por lo buenas que son y aquí aunque no lo crean Colton me dejo sorprendida por lo buen amigo que fue para Roman.

Este libro sin duda resalta mucho el amor propio luego de una pérdida, como nos sentimos culpables de seguir viviendo cuando la otra persona no, el camino de Roman fue difícil pero con Neva él sintió que podía vivir sin culpas; como el estar rodeados de amigos (buenos amigos) ayuda a sobrellevar las penurias de la vida. Este libro sin duda me dejo con un vacío emocional pero del buen sentido y con eso le agradezco mucho a la autora por crear a estos maravillosos personajes y hacernos parte de su viaje.

Contiene temas un tanto fuertes (no gráficos) que pueden ser un detonante para algunas personas, así que lean las advertencias de contenido antes de leer.

Meant for Her by Natasha Madison (Meant For #2)

[ENG] Of all Natasha’s books, this is the saddest one I’ve read from her, and I say it because of the whole theme of grief. Let’s say I had my resistances since I didn’t know how she would handle everything, and let’s say she surpassed everything I thought.

The story of Chris and Dakota is difficult from the beginning, she lost her husband and he his best friend, but not everything is what they thought. As you read, you see that Dakota’s married life was not rosy and something I like about the author is that she knows how to handle the issue of addiction very well (her book This Is Wild is one of my favorites). The more I read, the more it hurt me for her and the girls, and I’m so glad they had Christian with them, that he helped them cope with everything and something to highlight is that here it normalizes going to seek professional help to overcome things and that for me takes the whole book.

As I said at the beginning, the relationship is difficult, two with a past that unites them, what people will say. But even so, it was nice to see these two grow as people, Chris’s relationship with the girls took more than one tear from me and Dakota as a mother is an example. When they are together it just feels good, the more you advance in the story it just feels good that they are together, I thought I would have my prejudices but no, Christian and Dakota stole a piece of my heart and I loved seeing them overcome each of the obstacles that were put (although most of them were put by themselves.

Now here I will become a bit of a fan but it is that reading this whole family again is a safe place for me and here they did not disappoint in adopting Dakota and the girls as their own, the whole Stone family is my favorite in terms of dynamics and reading them all together making chaos is a pleasure.

[ESP] De todos los libros de Natasha este es el libro más triste que he leído de ella y lo digo por todo el tema del duelo, digamos que tenía mis resistencias ya que no sabía cómo manejaria todo y digamos que superó todo lo que pensaba.

La historia de Chris y Dakota es difícil desde un principio, ella perdió a su esposo y él a su mejor amigo pero no todo es lo que pensaban, mientras vas leyendo vas viendo que la vida de casada de Dakota no era color de rosa y algo que me gusta de la autora es que sabe manejar muy bien el tema de la adicción (su libro This Is Wild es de mis favoritos) mientras mas leía mas me dolía por ella y las niñas, y me alegra tanto que tuvieran a Christian con ellas, que el las ayudó a sobrellevar todo y algo que resaltar es que aquí se normaliza el ir a buscar ayuda profesional para superar las cosas y eso para mi se lleva todo el libro.

Como dije al principio la relación es difícil, dos con un pasado que los une, el qué dirán las personas pero aun así, fue lindo ver crecer a estos dos como personas, la relación de Chris con las niñas me saco mas de una lágrima y Dakota como madre es un ejemplo. Cuando están juntos solo se siente bien, mientras más avanzas en la historia solo se siente bien que ellos estén juntos, pensaba que tendría mis prejuicios pero no, Christian y Dakota se robaron un pedazo de mi corazón y me encanto verlos superar cada uno de los obstáculos que se ponían (aunque la mayoría de ellos, eran puestos por ellos mismos)

Ahora aquí me pondré un poco fan pero es que volver a leer a toda esta familia es un lugar seguro para mi y aquí no decepcionaron en adoptar a Dakota y las niñas como suyos, toda la familia Stone es mi favorita en cuanto a dinámicas se refiere y leerlos todos juntos haciendo caos es un placer.

Promise Me This by Karla Sorensen (Wilder Family #3)

 

What to Expect: best friends to lovers , single parent , slow burn , roommates , grumpy x sunshine , small town.

[ENG] This is undoubtedly one of the most Slow Burn books I’ve read from the author and she knew how to write it, you feel the tension between the characters throughout the book and I’m here for that.

The story follows Ian and Harlow, two childhood friends who separated to fulfill their dreams and meet again when Harlow returns to town with her daughter Sage, and they feel that their friendship was only on pause because everything continued the same, Ian tells Harlow to move in with him since his house is big and she can have the peace she needs to write her book (she is an author) and this is where everything starts in the best way, you see how little by little the feelings of friends are change into something more, like Ian spoke with Sage and understood her, like that little girl fought for what she wanted and how Ian helped her.

Yes, it was all slow but it was completely worth the wait for these two to be together, because you felt the love through the pages, they first resolved everything with their families and then they were together without ties and without regrets.

I knew I would get sad in this story and it’s more than anything for the Wilder family, the previous book I cried like a baby for the death of the father of the family and in this book I saw the path of mourning of the entire Wilder family and the author knew how to handle everything in such a way that you see little by little how each character deals with it and how Ian dealt with it.

Without a doubt another book that goes to the favorites of the year because it made me feel so many things and it made me feel happy while I was reading it.

[ESP] Este es sin duda uno de los libros más Slow Burn que he leído de la autora y supo cómo escribirlo, sientes la tensión entre los personajes en todo el libro y yo estoy aquí por eso.

La historia sigue Ian y Harlow, dos amigos de la infancia que se separaron para cumplir sus sueños y se vuelven a reencontrar cuando Harlow vuelve al pueblo con su hija Sage, y sienten que su amistad solo estuvo en pausa porque todo siguió igual, Ian le dice a Harlow que se mude con él ya que su casa es grande y puede tener la paz que necesita para escribir su libro (ella es autora) y aquí es donde todo empieza de la mejor manera, ves como poco a poco los sentimientos de amigos se van transformando en algo más, como Ian hablaba con Sage y la entendía, como esa pequeña niña lucho por lo que quería y como Ian la ayudo.

Si, fue todo lento pero valió completamente la espera para que estos dos estuvieran juntos, porque sentías el amor a través de las páginas, como primero resolvieron todo con sus familias y luego estuvieron juntos sin ataduras y sin remordimientos.

Sabía que me pondría triste en esta historia y es más que todo por la familia Wilder, el libro anterior llore como un bebé por la muerte del padre de la familia y en este libro vi el camino del duelo de toda la familia Wilder y la autora supo manejar todo de tal manera que ves poco a poco como cada personaje lidia con ello y como Ian lidio con ello.

Sin duda otro libro que se va para los favoritos del año porque me hizo sentir tantas cosas y me hizo sentir feliz mientras lo leía.
