[ENG] Oh, this book was such a pleasant surprise. The cover really caught my eye, and when I saw it was on NetGalley, I knew I had to read or rather, listen to it and what a surprise! The story combines mystery with romance (though there’s more mystery), and I really loved that mix. I laughed a lot at every character; Pip, our main character, is amazing. I really liked her personality and how she tried to figure everything out. I liked Nash, how devoted he was to our protagonist even though he knew it might lead nowhere, but seeing those little moments between them was beautiful.

The ending was unexpected; I really didn’t see it coming. I had my suspicions and truly thought I’d figured everything out until boom everything I believed wasn’t true. I really had a great time listening to this book.

The narrator did a fantastic job; I fell in love with her voice and how she brought every character to life (and there were a lot of them). It was completely clear, something I always appreciate and I’ll definitely listen to more audiobooks narrated by her.

[ESP] Oh este libro fue una buena sorpresa, me llamó mucho la atención su portada y viendo que estaba en netgalley sabía que tenía que leerlo/escucharlo y que sorpresa! La historia nos trae un misterio ligado con el romance (aunque más misterio) y me gusto mucho la mezcla. Me reí mucho con cada personaje, Pip, nuestra protagonista es espectacular, me gusto mucho su personalidad y como intentó resolver todo. Nash me gusto, lo devoto que fue a nuestra protagonista aun sabiendo que podría no llevar a nada pero ver esos pequeños momentos entre ellos fue hermoso.

El final fue inesperado, de verdad que no lo vi venir, tenía mis sospechas y de verdad pensé que tenía resuelto todo hasta que boom todo lo que creía no era verdad, de verdad que pase un buen tiempo escuchando este libro.

La narradora hizo un grandioso trabajo, me enamore de su voz y como le dio vida a cada personaje (lo cual eran muchos), fue completamente entendible algo que siempre agradezco y sin duda volveré a escuchar audiolibros narrados por ella.

[ENG] This book left me speechless, I didn't think I would like it so much, let alone the huge twist it had. As I was reading I had to keep my notebook next to me because of all the theories I had that turned out to be nothing in the end because as always the bad detective is me.

I found the story of a mystery writer's retreat spectacular and as the days went by EVERYTHING happened, Mia who was the one who wanted revenge was just a puppet and WOW, every character, every point of view gave me more and more and yes, I was satisfied with everything. Without giving too many spoilers, every death was graphic and well, everyone has a secret, but who doesn't?

For the author's debut I liked it a lot, her writing was understandable to me and I read that they have already sold the rights for a movie or a series AND HERE I AM THRILLED.

[ESP] Este libro me dejó sin palabras, no pensé que me fuera a gustar tanto y mucho menos el tremendo plot twist que tuvo. Mientras leía tenía que tener mi cuaderno al lado por todas las teorías que yo tenía que al final resultaron en nada porque como siempre, la mala detective soy yo.

La historia de un retiro de escritores de misterio me pareció espectacular y mientras pasaban los días TODO PASA, Mia que es la que quería hacer venganza fue solo un títere y WOW, cada personaje, cada punto de vista me daba mas y mas y si, quede satisfecha con todo. Sin decir mucho spoiler, cada muerte fue grafica y bueno, cada uno esconde un secreto pero ¿quien no?

Para ser el debut de la autora me gusto muchisimo, para mi su escritura fue entendible además de que lei que ya habían vendido los derechos para una película o serie Y AQUI ESTOY EMOCIONADA.

[ENG] Returning to the world of the McCarthy sisters is always a pleasure, and this book is no exception. It hooks you right from the start, when the murder happens, you don't suspect anyone until well into the story, and let me tell you, I confirmed once again that I'm terrible at solving crimes because I had no idea who it could be.

This was one of those books that keeps you reading, and that's exactly what I did. The McCarthy sisters story is absolutely great and I loved seeing Lizzie gain a little more self-confidence and watching our star writer Mercy, up to her usual antics.

The ending is good and from what I could gather, there will be more books since they haven't resolved the mystery from two books ago (regarding her father), so you'll have me reading every book in this series by this author.

[ESP] Volver al mundo de las hermanas McCarthy siempre es un placer y este libro no es la diferencia. Desde el inicio te atrapa, cuando sucede el asesinato no sospechas de nadie hasta más entrada la historia y déjenme decirles que volví a confirmar que soy mala tratando de resolver crímenes porque no tenía ni idea de quien podría ser.

Este fue de esos libros que te mantienen leyendo y eso fue lo que hice, la historia de las hermanas McCarthy es completamente buena y me gusto ver a Lizzie teniendo un poco más de confianza en sí misma y también viendo a nuestra escritora estrella Mercy haciendo de las suyas.

El desenlace es bueno y por lo que pude deducir, habrá más libros ya que no nos han resuelto la intriga de hace dos libros (con respecto a su padre) así que aquí me tendrán leyendo cada libro de esta serie y autora.

[ENG] Another book by Karla that I absolutely loved! She knows how to make me laugh and cry at the same time, make me sigh and daydream about her characters, and that’s why she’s one of my favorite authors.

Here we follow Remi and Archer, and let me tell you, I liked their story, slow, really sloooow but I liked it. These two have an encounter right at the start of the book, and even though it doesn’t go any further, it leaves a big impression. From there, we move on to the part where Archer has to do community service at the animal shelter where Remi works because of things he did (spoiler) and that’s where this adventure begins. I can say that I liked the story behind all of that. The romance, as I said, is slow, but we see how Archer falls in love first, and I loved Remi in this regard: she knew she had feelings too, but she thought things through very carefully.

The story was good, typical of the author’s writing style, with charming characters and protagonists who draw you in. Now, I hope we get books about Archer’s teammates because I loved them in every scene they appeared in.

The narrators were excellent; they kept me immersed in the story and their voices, though I must admit that our female narrator stood out the most, though I’m a bit biased here since I love her voice.

[ESP] Otro libro de Karla que me encanto! Ella sabe como ponerme a reír y llorar al mismo tiempo, ponerme a suspirar y a soñar despierta con sus personajes y por eso es de mis autoras favoritas.

Acá seguimos a Remi y Archer y déjenme decirles que me gusto su historia, lenta, pero leeeenta, pero me gusto. Estos dos tienen un encuentro ni bien empezado el libro pero que, aunque no llega a más, deja una gran impresión y de allí nos movemos hasta la parte donde Archer tiene que hacer servicio comunitario en el refugio de animales donde trabaja Remi por cosas que él hizo (spoiler) y allí empieza esta aventura, puedo decir que la historia detrás de todo eso me gusto. El romance como dije es lento, pero vemos como Archer se enamora primero y me encanto Remi en este particular, sabía que ella también tenía sentimientos pero pensó muy bien las cosas.

La historia fue buena, típica de la forma de escribir de la autora, con unos personajes encantadores y unos protagonistas que te atrapan. Ahora bien, espero que tengamos los libros de los compañeros de equipo de Archer porque los amé en cada escena que aparecieron.

Los narradores fueron excelentes, me mantuvieron inmersa en la historia y en sus voces, aunque debo admitir que nuestra narradora fue la que más sobresale aunque aquí soy un poco fan ya que amo su voz.
